Honoring Virginia Women Veterans

Did you know Virginia boasts having the largest percentage of woman Veterans per population size of any state?

While I wasn't born in the state of Virginia (or any state for that matter), I do call Virginia home.

This week marks the seventh consecutive year that Virginia as designated an entire week to celebrate its women Veterans. The Commonwealth sets aside the third week of March during Women's History Month to recognize its more than 108,000 women Veterans.

I have always felt at home here and recently the feeling was even more prevalent when I was chosen to be one of a handful of women Veteran stories highlighted by News anchor GeNienne Samuels of Richmond, Virginia's CBS News Channel 6.
